Speeding Checks and Notice Review Steps

About to check for speeding records? Is the result blank, or did a notice arrive? Here are official menus and check steps. It cannot decide if you were caught. It cannot assess a disposition's legality.

Choose Your Current Situation

Have a notice? Start with the review section. Not checked yet? Start with the menu table. No results? First check the limits below.

Jump to Your Situation

This guide focuses on personal vehicles. It covers standard checks for their owners. The last section covers other ownership. It also covers corporate vehicles.

Choose the Official Menu First

Official Address and Identity Checks

The official entry is 경찰청 교통민원24. This is the police traffic service site. It is also known as 이파인 (eFine). Use the official home link below. Please check the address there.

Some check menus require identity checks. This is not a review of personal records. No records were viewed after verification. No identity method is specified here. Nor is a required preparation list. Check current conditions on the site.

The home page warns about unknown SMS URLs. Use the official address, not an SMS link.

Some help pages use a vehicle number. They use it as a search condition. These cover recent records and unpaid fines. This does not mean every menu requires it. It does not imply access to others' records. Nor does it imply access to all of them.

Choose Among Three Menus by Purpose

Check recent records and unpaid items apart. Have a notice? Also check its penalty type. Camera enforcement alone cannot pick a menu.

Official Menu Selection Table

Recent enforcement records조회 > 과태료 > 최근단속내역 / Check > administrative fines > recent recordsS01, S02-A

The recent-record help links to payment help. That link opens the unpaid-fine screen. It does not mean payment was completed. The recent-record screen is not proof of it.

Direct menu links may open identity guidance. They are not verified personal-record links. Nor do they prove printing or payment. Choose a menu on the official home page. Match it to your purpose.

No Results? Check the Limits

Do Not Treat a Blank Result as Final

A blank result cannot rule out enforcement. This is editorial guidance. It reflects the FAQ limits below.

The police FAQ was posted on 2012-12-14. It says records are not registered at once. This refers to the moment of enforcement. It describes review before transmission. Records are then sent to headquarters. Transmission issues may add delays.

This old FAQ is not a current timing test. Its timing figures are not used here. They are not current record-posting dates. The current posting date needs verification.

Rechecking and Official Inquiries

The official recheck cycle is unverified. No specific number of days is given. Rechecking is an editorial recommendation. So is checking with the relevant agency. This is not a statutory sequence. Nor are they an official recheck rule.

Still unsure? Check the official contact. Have a notice? Check the issuer first. Required inquiry materials are not set here.

교통민원24 lists an inquiry phone number. It is 182 (paid call).

Have a notice? Do not rely on blank results. Compare its type with official detail help.

Document Types and Printing Guidance

First check the penalty type and issuer. The table separates public printing help. It does not verify personal print success.

Type to checkPublic help: detail guidanceSource
Unpaid administrative fine (미납과태료)Printing a bill (고지서) is described.S02-B
Unpaid traffic penalty (미납범칙금)Printing a penalty notice is described. 통고서 is the Korean document name.S02-C

통지·공고 is a separate menu group. It covers notifications and announcements. It is not a menu for all personal notices. Keep it apart from type-specific check help.

Source: S01 official home

The FAQ also compares the two penalty types. The guide below uses its 2015-05-29 posting. It is not a finding based on current law.

ItemGuidance in the FAQ at that time
Administrative fine (과태료): recipientIt says the vehicle owner is charged.
Traffic penalty (범칙금): recipientIt says the actual driver is charged.
Administrative fine (과태료): pointsIt says there are no penalty points.
Traffic penalty (범칙금): pointsIt says penalty points may apply.

This FAQ alone cannot settle legal effects. This is not advice to change penalty types. Nor is it advice to convert a disposition.

Compare Only the Items Shown

Do the notice and result differ? First check if they concern the same record. The table is an editorial recommendation. Compare only items shown in your materials. It is not an official required-field list.

Notice Checklist: Editorial Advice

Related detail help: S02-B, S02-C

These items are editorial advice, not rules. Required personal-screen fields are unknown. Missing items do not prove an error. Different items do not prove one either.

Still a mismatch? Please check officially. Ask the issuer or official contact. This blog cannot decide which is correct. Do not change payment types by guessing. No personal amount examples are given. Nor are deadline or account examples.

Keep Checking and Payment Separate

Before paying, check the document type. Also check the current official guidance. Viewing records is separate from payment.

Unpaid-fine help describes a payment list. It also describes virtual-account functions. Unpaid-penalty help shows payable items. It describes a link to Internet Giro payment. The linked service is 금융결제원 인터넷지로.

All of these describe public help functions. No personal payment screen was verified. Nor was a successful payment verified. Do not use this guide as proof of payment.

Legal deadlines are outside this guide. So are objection procedures. Current legislation needs verification. Type unclear? Please check officially first.

Check Ownership and Agency Boundaries

Corporate and Other Ownership

Corporate vehicles need separate treatment. They differ from standard personal checks. The relevant FAQ was posted on 2024-03-19. It describes a corporate application. This is a separate application. The FAQ describes completion processing. This is by the relevant police station. It says corporate fines can then be checked.

A personal login cannot promise full access. This applies to corporate records. Actual applications need verification. So do case-specific document requirements.

Rental and leased vehicles need other checks. So do vehicles in someone else's name. Ownership-change procedures are unverified. So are joint-ownership procedures. Asking the company is editorial advice. Checking with the issuer is also advised. This is not a verified change procedure.

Other Agencies and Official Resources

교통민원24 links to separate parking sites. They cover stopping and parking violations. These include 위택스 (Wetax) and Seoul's site. The links below come from that home page. Their actual check steps were not tested. Not all traffic fines belong on eFine alone.
